What Will You Remember? A Trip to Sedona, Arizona

During spring break, I visited Sedona, Arizona with my best friend A.L. It was quite a long drive from Los Angeles, about eight hours in total. However, the journey was a lot more fun with her. We not only shared stories about friends and classmates, we also talked about the future and the big dreams we had. In the midst of all this, we were surrounded by amazing views from nature.

We stayed at the Amara Resort and Spa, about a five-minute walk from the main shopping street. You could look around and find quaint boutique stores, and even collect local artwork as a one-of-a-kind souvenir. We even swam in a pool that was right in front of red rock formations. If you’re looking for a place to stay, it’s hard to beat the Amara. Not only is it a beautiful hotel with a unique setting and location, the staff were very attentive and the rooms are very nice and clean.

A.L. and I went hiking on one of the famous red rocks named Cathedral Rock, a well-known landmark on the Sedona skyline. The climb itself is a short and steep hike into the saddle points or “gaps,” of the formation. Towering side rocks keep parts of the path shaded and breezy, but when you get to the lower part of the trail, you are completely exposed to the sun. Good thing we didn’t go in the heat of summer!

We couldn’t believe that we almost climbed to the top. It was very windy, but the entire view was well worth the journey. Definitely stop by here if you’re traveling, and bring a friend!

Another famous spot we saw was The Chapel of the Holy Cross, a Roman Catholic chapel built into the buttes of Sedona. A beautiful chapel built on red rock, it was an especially meaningful visit we made during Easter holiday.

A.L. is very happy to carry her Coral Pink Imperia crossbody bag from Beside-U. It really matches the color of the red rocks, and it didn’t get dirty from the hike.

Lastly, we saw a very interesting McDonald’s that had teal colored arches. How cool it was to see something like that at a fast food place? It really offsets the amount of warm, earth tones you find in Sedona.

My trip with A.L. was great, and I am very lucky to have her as my best friend. I hope you enjoyed reading about the trip and I looking forward to hearing the grand adventures you’re sharing with your best friends!
